Glen Fargo

American Malt Whiskey

Why "Glen Fargo"?

The name Glen Fargo is a tribute to the land itself—“Glen,” meaning a glacially carved valley, and Fargo, which sits in one of the largest of its kind on Earth. As founder Joel Kath prepared to launch Glen Fargo American Malt Whiskey, the Scotch Whisky Association reached out, challenging the use of the word “Glen,” a term deeply tied to Scottish tradition. After some spirited discussion, an agreement was reached: the name could stay, so long as “American Malt Whiskey” was always used alongside it. The result is a name—and a whiskey—that proudly honors its roots, both geographical and cultural.
